Colleagues in Pavia and Erlangen have developed a plugin to create an xls / csv export from i2b2. It's very helpful. Unfortunately it doesn't currently allow duplicate elements from the ontologies to be exported, and that's unfortunate, given that we have many duplicates between the MINAP datasets, for instance.

Attached is a possible fix.

The plugin offers two formats for the download file - one is an html version of an excel file, the other is csv. However, the csv and the html/xls renders with multiple result rows per patient in Excel if there is multiple data in any of the columns because each result observation is followed by a carriage return. A workaround is to open the csv file in LibreOffice or LibreOfficePortable, and then save the resulting data in excel xls format.
