Proposed Solution

  1. Create a job that is run regularly with cron on Spectre
  2. The job creates an SSH tunnel to run a mysqldump and put the file on the scratch directory /scratch/r/rab63
  3. Zip up the backup and put it on the R drive /rfs/LCBRU
