7-Zip HowTo Create an Encrypted Zip File

Procedure

  1. You first need to install ​7-Zip and make sure that the client also has it installed.
  2. Right click on the folder and select 7-Zip > Add to archive.
  3. Ensure these settings:
Archive Format
7z
Create SFX archive
Ticked if you want to create a self-extracting EXE file.
Enter Password
A Strong Password
Reenter Password
The same Strong Password
Encryption Method
AES-256
Encrypted file name
Ticked if file names are sensitive
  1. Click OK to zip and encrypt.
